Leavey Lions vs Lahore Badshahs match report

Lahore won the toss and decided to bat first. Lahore Badshahs known for their aggressive game went hard from the start, but good opening spells by the Lion's Bowlers kept them in check assisted by some excellent catching . Lahore lost 5 wickets for 37 runs inside 5 overs and were in a spot of bother until Muhammad Sadiq arrived at the crease and steadied the collapse. Late flourish from @muhammad sadiq( 24 of 23 balls), @kumail( 18 of 4 balls), and @fahad( 23 of 21 balls), saw the Badshahs reach a respectable score of 125-9. Gaurav Mathur, Kaushal Joshi, Jaskaran Parhar,Tejas Bhedi each ending with 2 wickets.
Lions went on to bat with a change in plan promoting Parmeet Singh to open with Sohil Suchde. The duo started well with an opening of 33 inside 3 overs before @parmeet fell to @fahad. @Sohil looked in good form, hitting 3 huge sixes but lost his wicket to a missed time shot of @Fahad's bowling. Lions kept on losing wickets and were 56 for 4 in the 8 th over. With 70 needed in last 7 overs, Saptesh Sawant joined @gaurav mathur at the crease.The duo initially played low risk shots and emphasized on singles. With 48 needed of last 4 overs and with 2 overs of Muhammad Sadiq and 1 of Asfand Ahmed still in the bank, it looked a tough task, but @gaurav mathur was up for it and played some delightful shots to keep the Lions in the hunt. The match was nicely poised with 16 needed of the last over with @Saptesh Sawant at the crease. He scored 4,4,6 of the first three balls to win the match for the Lions with 3 balls and 6 wickets in hand. The duo ended with an unbeaten partnership of 70 in 36 balls - Gaurav (27 runs) and Saptesh(29 runs).
@Gaurav mathur was declared the man of the match for his all round performance of 2-20 with the ball and 27 crucial runs.
The Lions won their second consecutive game of the season.
