VV won the toss and elected to bat. Hamid Popal got VV to a flying start by hitting 56 runs of just 23 balls that included seven massive sixes. VV were 63 for 1 in 5 overs and looked to put a big total on the board. Hamid was dismissed in the 6th over and gave CC bowlers a chance to get back in the game. Excellent bowling by Parmeet Singh (3-18-2), Mayur Shah (3-21-0) and Ankit Nagarle (3-24-0) restricted VV to 135/5 in 15 overs. Paritosh Sourav scored 34 not out and was well supported by Taniket who scored 20 runs.
Chasing 136 to win CC lost Gaganjot Singh second ball in the first over. Ankit Nagarle played sensible innings of 38 not out and was equally supported by Rana Aijaz (33 runs) that provided stability to CC innings. CC lost their 2nd wicket at 93 and were needing 42 of 6 overs. Parmeet’s aggressive inning of 30 from 15 balls insured comfortable win for CC. Vidya , Paritosh and Taniket got one wicket each for VV.
Parmeet was declared man of the match for his all round performance!
