Cardinal Knights vs Marshall Sixers match report
Mar 29, 2015 03:39 PM | Cardinal Knights won by 6 wickets | ScorecardCardinal Knights won their 2nd round game against Marshall Sixers by 6 wickets.
Cardinal Knights won the toss and elected to field against a depleted Sixers side playing their last game of the season. Marshall openers Kamalpreet Kalsi and Tarun Sandhu looked to dominate the bowlers and got off to a good start. However, the wickets of Tarun, Kamalpreet, and Junayd within two overs really set their innings back. Having lost their key batsmen, the Sixers were unable to recover and the innings wrapped up at 71 in 13.1 overs. The Knights bowlers had a good outing and the wickets were taken by Ankit Harsora (3 for 7), Kaushal Joshi (2 for 16), and Kapil Manek (1 for 21).
Knights never looked in any discomfort and chased down the target in 9.1 overs with contributions from Sushil Premjani (18 from 13), Vinith Reddy (26 from 17), and Vaibhav Oberoi (15 from 12).
Ankit Harsora was awarded the Man of the Match.
A special mention to the Marshall Sixers for fighting hard in their first season at Cromwell. Hope to see them again next season.
