The Tigers won he toss and elected to field first. Gaganjot Singh? and Ankith Nagarle? gave a perfect start to the Champs scoring 40 off the first 4 overs of the powerplay. The Tigers restricted the scoring rate for next couple of overs by picking two quick wickets. But, the Champs Captain, Rana Aijaz? had other plans who punished the clueless bowling attack of the Tigers, smashing 10 sixes and scoring 82* in just 33 deliveries. Parmeet Singh? concluded the Champs' innings on a high note scoring 29* in 12 balls. The Champs ended up with the score of 186 in 15 overs. Bharadwaj Jayaraman? was pick of the bowler who took 2 wickets for 24 runs in his 3 overs.
Chasing a mammoth target of 187, Gaurav Nilakantan? and Bhumik Patel? gave a perfect start to the Tigers scoring 80 plus runs in first 8 overs. Gaurav N, playing only his third game of the season, showed no rustiness of lack of match practice and smashed 52 runs off just 31 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes). The ever reliable Bhumik Patel continued his impressive run in the season scoring yet another fifty (56 off 30).
Needing 100 off the last 7 overs, Gaurav Mathur? joined Bhumik and the duo kept up with the required run rate hitting couple of boundaries in every over. With 67 required off last 4 overs, the Tigers' batters went berserk in the batting powerplay smashing 35 runs.
With 20 needed in the last over, the Champs looked favorite to clinch the match. Bhumik and Gaurav scored 2, 4, 1, 2 in the first 4 balls. Requiring 11 runs off last 2 balls of the match, Gaurav Mathur smashed 2 sixes to win the game. Trojan Tigers won the match with 8 wickets in hand and 0 balls in spare.
