Lahore Badshah reached a total of 153 helped by some pinch hitting in the last few overs by captain Sadiq who blasted a few sixes. CSK needed 154 runs to get their first win of the season. CSK lost their first batsman early, but then Bhumik and Vaibhav put together a big partnership to keep CSK's hopes alive. After Bhumik fell to a well aimed delivery by Sadiq , Saptesh stepped in and put together a small partnership with Vaibhav that kept CSK's run rate on track. In a nailbiter, CSK needed 23 runs in the last two overs to win. Helped with some boundaries by Vaibhav, Saptesh, and then Karthik, CSK then needed only 4 runs off the last over to win. After a generous wide and bye from the LB bowler to start the last over, CSK needed just 2 runs to win. Master blaster Vaibhav Khanna ended the match in style by blasting a six over midwicket to give CSK their first win. Vaibhav was elected the man of the match.
