Delhi put Chennai in to bat first and after losing an early wicket, master blasters Bhumik and Vaibhav tore into DD's bowlers and continually smashed boundaries and sixes to give CSK's its highest score of the tournament yet. CSK precision opening bowler Gaurav Mathur then proceeded to dismantle DD's opening batsman with a wicket-maiden over to start off with followed by another maiden over. Apart from a promising knock by Guriqbal Sandhu of DD, none of the other batsman clicked, leading a crushing defeat.
