A good intial spell by Gaurav Mathur kept the run rate below eight in the first half of the innings. This was followed by a very good spell from Karthik who took 3 important wickets of Prathyay, Rohit and Vivek. On the other end, Vaibhav kept the scoreboard running by hitting a few sixes till he got caught out. Ashish Gholap played a good knock of 15 runs at the end helping MI reach a fighting total of 123 runs.
CSK started off very slowly scoring just 27 runs in the first 7 overs and losing both their openers. With pressure building up, the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Some resistance was showed by Rohan Kale who scored 26 runs in 23 balls. Thanks to a couple of sixes by Ishaan in the last over, CSK ended up at 105 losing the match by 18 runs.
Ashish was given the Man of the Match for his good all-round performance.
