After a four win streak, Lahore Badshah registered their first loss of the Cromwell Spring 2014 tournament at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. Lahore got off to a slow batting start until three down Ali Khan made a quick 32 runs off 11 balls. However Lahore could not fully recover from the constant fall of wickets and increasing pressure thanks to the tight and precise Chennai bowling attack.
Chennai lost their opening wicket in the first over, however a calm and collected batting performance by Abhinav Singh, of 45 runs in 38 balls, complemented at the other end by Gaurav Mathur and Rohan Kale, saw Chennai cruise to victory in just 13.1 overs. Abhinav was declared man of the match, for his all round performance that also included just 16 runs and 2 wickets off 3 overs with the ball.
